The ongoing furor about apparent abuse of robo-calls in the last federal election has raised wide concern about the impact of new technologies on election campaigns. The Chief Electoral Officer is expected to report to Parliament this spring on how to respond to the increasing ability of political parties to harness data technology for their own ends.
