On September 17, the IRPP hosted 32 students from 23 countries from the European Union on a study tour organized by the European Network for Canadian Studies. The aim of this program is to provide students with an understanding of EU-Canada relations and the complex diversity of Canada. The Institute held a half-day seminar for the group, at which research directors Leslie Seidle, Tyler Meredith, Stephen Tapp, Nicole F. Bernier, as well as Vice-President of Research France St-Hilaire, discussed some of the IRPP’s research and its implications for Canada. They focused in particular on competitiveness and economic growth, diversity and immigration, and population aging. In October, the Institute will welcome a Latvian student from the tour for a two-month research internship.
